Customers have changed. In the new Subscription Economy® (a phrase coined by our CEO, Tien Tzuo) customers are happier subscribing to the outcomes they want, when they want them, rather than purchasing a product with the burden of ownership. We believe that one day, every company will be part of the Subscription Economy.
Zuora creates cloud-based software on a subscription basis that enables any company in any industry to successfully launch, manage, and transform into a subscription business. Included in our portfolio of SaaS application is Zuora’s RevPro solution, the world’s leading revenue automation solution enabling customers to streamline revenue recognition and meet the latest standards.
Our growth story is far from over and the VP of Engineering is pivotal to driving the next evolution of Zuora RevPro as we establish a new architecture to handle an order of magnitude, increase in scale and establish the foundation to go well beyond that.
Make no mistake, this will be a challenging role: the technology will change, our processes will change and the engineering teams will need to operate in new ways. It’s as much about organizational transformation as it is about new technology and simultaneously, maintaining and operating the current system remains critical. There is no cookie cutter approach; your success will largely come from how creatively you respond to what’s in front of you and knowing where we need to go. You’ll need to be a master of the VP of Engineering basics: vision, execution, leading, motivating, coaching, recruiting, budgeting, issue resolution and communicating up, down and sideways throughout our global organization. Change of this scale takes time and requires high energy for a sustained effort.
