4hundred is a revolutionary digital energy company, delivering the fairest offer in the German market. Over the past 18 months we’ve built 4hundred from scratch, developing all our own technology and building an outstanding team. We’ve completed two funding rounds and have been supplying energy to customers since October 2017.

Now we’re looking for an ambitious personality to complete the management team – could that be you?

As our Marketing Director / CMO you will lead our marketing activities, ensuring that our values and our offer are visible to all potential customers across the right channels, including social media, price comparison sites, customer-to-customer referrals and print media.

You will work directly with the two founders and CTO. You will have a €1.5m marketing budget in 2018, increasing to over €10m in 2020. You will also build and nurture a superstar marketing team, leading and developing these individuals over time. Specifically, you will:

  • Direct and execute our marketing strategy and help shape the 4hundred brand
  • Select and populate the right marketing channels – online and offline
  • Drive sales performance and continually refine the marketing mix
  • Recruit and develop the right individuals to the marketing team
  • Participate in the overall strategy process for the business, including entry into new markets

We also expect you to meet the following requirements:

  • Ambitious, smart, energetic and with a very strong can-do attitude.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative
  • In-depth understanding of what drives decision-making among German consumers
  • 10+ years experience in B2C marketing roles
  • Experience of Agile is a plus (at 4hundred we work in 2 week sprints)
  • Energy experience isn’t needed, but experience with digital-focused B2C players (e.g. Fintech) or retail/ FMCG business would be an asset
  • Required language: Deutsch als Muttersprache, Englisch: fließend
  • Job Location: Munich/ Starnberg

It’s important to find the right person who shares our values; if you prefer to work freelance, that’s fine with us. There is also the potential to become a full time employee by mutual agreement. For the right candidate we are able to offer a salary of €100,000 plus performance-related bonus. Once you have completed your probation period, you will be eligible for a generous Employee Share Ownership Programme.
