Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance, or accounting.
- 2-3 years of experience in finance or accounting, audit, statutory compliances, receivables & payables management.
- Sound knowledge of financial principles and practices, and payroll policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Datev.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic start-up environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong command of English language and native German speaker
Roles & Responsibilities
Data Entry and Transaction Processing:
- Ensure all financial transactions (Purchase, Sales, Cash, Bank, Expenses, Employee Reimbursement, etc.) are recorded accurately and promptly in DATEV.
- Ensuring that all expenses incurred in Germany or by the German team are properly booked, communicated, and classified based on the identified cost centers.
- Communication with suppliers and maintenance of invoice copies in DATEV and SharePoint.
- Communication with the HR department regarding personnel cost centers and salary-related payments (including wage and social security tax payments to health insurance companies).
- Assist in the processing of payroll and related activities.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Checking all expense invoices received from our suppliers for accuracy and approval by the authorized person.
- Processing invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are up to date.
- Keeping a list of proposed payments (including salaries, employee expenses, travel, and other costs).
- Reconcile bank statements, company credit cards, and accounts.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensuring timely filing for all German compliance and tax regulations.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits.
- Maintain records and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Conducting credit checks and integrating suppliers into Tvarit in collaboration with the legal team.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Provide administrative support during budget preparation.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Ensuring the completion of finance-related administrative tasks.
Communication and Co-ordination:
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as required.
- Address financial queries and provide information to colleagues and management.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to finance-related discussions.
