Cozero is a Berlin-based ClimateTech startup that transforms every company into a low-emission business. Our SaaS platform offers a fully digital end-to-end Carbon Action Platform (CAP) to track, forecast, and manage corporate emission data and most effectively match them to low-emission solutions on the market to reduce their carbon footprint. Tasks

- Inspire, lead and grow a team of 4-6 engineers with regular 1-on-1s, mentoring, and career guidance
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to influence product strategy and continuously improve processes on how we build our product
- Nurture a healthy team culture and make sure the team is motivated and able to achieve company goals
- Contribute as an engineer and tech lead of the team: lead technical discussions, review others’ code, etc.
- Participate in attracting, retaining, and developing talent across the Cozero Engineering organization
- Manage dependencies and expectations, build trust with all stakeholders, and deliver on commitments
- Report directly to the CTO of Cozero and work closely to establish the priorities and roadmap of the Cozero Engineering organization
- Create a pleasant onboarding of new developers and participate in creating a remote-friendly environment
- Establish and nurture processes that help developers be productive and autonomous

Requirements

- Proven leadership skills with engineering teams within an international, agile environment
- 5+ years of experience developing and releasing software in an Agile environment
- You are passionate about climate-related topics and thrive to lead a sustainable lifestyle
- You have a healthy approach to giving and receiving actionable, constructive feedback
- You care about keeping things simple
- You are positive, hardworking, and great to work with!

What does the interview process look like?

The process follows the same procedure for every candidate: getting to know team members through three to four conversations about Cozero, your experience, and your interests. As part of the process, we usually run through a skills screening (e.g. a coding challenge for a developer, a case challenge for a carbon accounting expert, and a portfolio discussion for a designer). A final reference call with a former colleague/manager of yours gives additional insight into your needs and wishes that we aim to factor in for your personal development plan. We emphasize transparency and the absence of surprise throughout the process.
