Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

In our team of 4 developers, you will bring the core of our frontend capabilities. We will look to you for the frontend portion of major development projects. We will also give you opportunities to develop yourself in areas that may feel unfamiliar to you.

Our frontend is built using React.js and interacts with our Python (Django) API. We have tackled head-on major technical debt and are now on a path to fine-tune the performance and UX of our software. These changes are setting us on track to become the leading platform for coaches to plan practices, manage their athletes and connect and learn from other coaches on the platform.

Tasks

- You will be immersed in a highly autonomous environment.
- You will structure and implement all new frontend features, fixes and improvements.
- In your first month, you will be familiarized with our team and have already resolved some bugs and small requests. Your code has gone live multiple times in the first month.
- In the following months, your knowledge of our codebase has drastically increased and you are offering your help in fundamental software architecture decisions. You also feel confident enough to suggest improvement to the team's workflow when you see it doesn't work.
- At the end of your first year, you have successfully contributed to a wide range of projects, even spanning across multiple elements of our system, from backend to mobile. You have established yourself as a self-starter and well-spoken member of our team.

Requirements

- Strong technical background (5+ years) in frontend development, preferably professional experience working with React.
- Ideally, you have experience in other areas of software development outside of frontend development (backend, frontend, infrastructure, etc.).
- You can comfortably propose technical solutions to business problems and clearly communicate them to your colleagues.
- You feel confident leading major frontend projects in terms of project management as well as the implementation of the feature.
- You are transparent, mindful and empathetic towards your teammates.
- You can easily express your ideas in written and spoken English.
