France ranks eleventh in the Global Startup Report, with an estimated 2,000-2,600 tech startups in Paris alone. This is widely due to the tuition-free coding school that was opened in the city indicating that those numbers are likely to rise in the coming years. The early-stage funding for France is about 270k per startup and the global connection average is 10.6. These numbers are both higher than the global average and have a potentially high margin for growth. While most of the startups throughout France are based in the tech industry, they have also earned the name the “sharing economy” due to the popular Paris ride-sharing startup, BlaBlaCar. France has a stable foreign customer market, at thirty-six percent, which helps for expansion and the possibility for startup jobs to be remote as well as domestic. This is already highlighted in the experienced talent growth, reaching sixty-two percent.
