Madrid, Spain is filled with strong people who have come back from their recent economic crisis by delving into the pool of potential their startup ecosystem had available to them. While Madrid has always been a financial stronghold for Spain, when their traditional economy started to wrinkle, the city knew that it was up to them to set an example and reclaim their financial security. So, throughout the city - comprised of three million people - founders started to raise money to make their dreams come true. Today, there is an estimated €659m invested by private investors into startup ventures within the city and an incredible €3.36bn fundraised to discover their personal potential. Additionally, Madrid is home to three prestigious business schools: IE, IESE, and Esade. This, in conjunction with the fact that Google opened one of only three European innovation campuses in Madrid, curates a recipe for startup success. With that recipe comes an increase in startup jobs that span across a wide range of disciplines.
